Today, our practice is focused where we do our best work: the five years before and after retirement, when the decisions about Roth conversions, Social Security timing, Medicare enrollment, and withdrawal strategy carry the most weight.

Why I started Prana Wealth.

I began my career as a mechanical design engineer. Along the way, a “financial advisor” who was really a salesperson put me into investments that paid him ongoing commissions and failed to help me plan for anything. I was furious.

Then I took a fee-only financial planner out to lunch and saw what this profession could be: a career where I could do good and do well at the same time. I started Prana Wealth as an alternative to the big-box brokerage houses and the firms that cater only to the ultra-wealthy. Building it is my way of walking the talk, just as I encourage my clients to do.

Every dollar of our compensation comes from clients. No commissions, no product sales, no hidden incentives. Advisors who are both fee-only and CFP® professionals belong to a deliberately small club.

Who we serve

Your accounts stay with you

Client assets are held at a third-party custodian in your name. Prana never takes possession of your money, and there is no lock-in. You can leave at any time.

Is Prana Wealth a fiduciary?

Yes. Prana Wealth is a fee-only fiduciary firm, which means we are legally and ethically required to act in your best interest at all times. Patrick King has signed a fiduciary oath, and the firm is a member of NAPFA, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, which requires fee-only fiduciary practice.

How does Prana Wealth get paid?

All of our compensation comes directly from clients. We offer three engagement options: One-Time Financial Planning with Patrick for $8,000 flat, Ongoing Wealth Management for a percentage of investments, and Flat-Fee Planning with a Prana team member from $3,900 per year. We earn no commissions and sell no products.

Do I need to live near your office to work with you?

No. Prana Wealth is a 100% virtual practice. We work with clients in every U.S. state and internationally, meeting by video at times that fit your schedule.

Who does Prana Wealth typically serve?

Most of our clients are 50 to 65 years old and within the five years before and after retirement. Ongoing Wealth Management clients typically have $1.5M+ in investable assets, while our one-time and flat-fee planning options have lower thresholds.

Does Prana Wealth hold my investments?

No. Your accounts are held in your name at a third-party custodian. Prana manages the investments under a limited authorization but never takes possession of your money, and you can end the relationship at any time.
